112: How to be interdependent rather than co-dependent in motherhood, with writer/photographer Kara Block.

Episode Description

Kara Block photographer mom Soul Mammas Podcast episode 112

Today’s ocean mama is a multi faceted lover of all things creative, mother to a gentle nine year old boy and published writer. Kara Block is a fellow surf mama who has that knowing glimmer in her eye, that proves her heart is forever tied to the water. After knowing her as an acquaintance and mutual friend for years, I am excited to speak to her many passions and insights today. Her book : “the Cultivation of Life is the Practice” she speaks a lot of surrendering to what IS and how looking at our pain can lead to a type of rebirth.

Kara has used her own pain; the pain of her parent’s heated divorce at age 5, or splitting from her child’s father and stepping into single motherhood, to inform her heart led decisions. She raises her son in an interdependent manner rather than a co-dependent one and is going to share about how to rewrite the learn/unlearning process.

After obtaining a masters in fine arts from Brooks School of the Arts she now works as a creative director, artist, and photographer. In addition to this, she recently launched her digital platform called the The Inclusion Community Hub which she hopes brings people together towards the change we want to see in the world.
