Episode Description

Everything changes when we step into motherhood. I feel it opens up a place in our heart and connects us will the spiritual world around us, as well as forces us to grow. Todays’ guest Nicole Mc Namara is wife of big wave legendary surfer Garrett Mc Namara, but also a courageous water woman and athlete herself whose perspective on motherhood is not only fresh, but wise and expansive. Heck this mama was one of the first women to tow in at Nazar, one of the biggest wave spots in the world.

Her perspective is fresh, unique and she is passionate about self reflection and bettering yourself constantly as a person. She’s done a lot of research on Human Design and learning how different individuals energy type is released in the world is something I feel will benefit how you mamas view your own children, their learning styles and your own partnerships and sense of self. Nicole is powerfully reflective, humble and strong.

As a former school teacher, like myself,  with a Masters in Environmental Education, Nicole knows about public education and has experienced the ins and outs of it first hand. Because she didn’t resonate with the idea that we are “smarter” or less smart than those around us, and because the system itself can be innately stifling, she’s made the choice to homeschool her children.

Nicole, who lives on the north shore of Oahu with Garrett and her children, is going to share about how there are some incredible alternative education systems and schools out there. People are creating beautiful learning environments sending life long learners into the world. Nicole knows that homeschooling isn’t for everyone, and isn’t the “easier route” by any means. Nicole is constantly reminding her little ones  that they are unique individuals and not meant to be like anyone else in the world. That each of us has a super power and we are here on this Earth to figure out what it is.
